Hey Guys,

Does anyone know what (if any) the factory window transparency is on an Evo IX? I know they are not tinted, but most automobile manufacturers put a slight tint in the glass (5-15% I believe) i.e. 85-95% light transparent.

I'm asking because my state has a 35% +/- 3% light transparency law, and I went 35% because I didn't think the Evo had any factory tinting. Well, without testing transparency, the officer that pulled me over yesterday evening gave me a ticket for about $150.

Its only 5% I believe. I can't remember what they told me when I got my windows tinted. I really didn't care about staying legal either. I went 20% tint all around and have never been pulled over

 

Yeah... unfortunately, he had nothing better to do. I came to a light, he was on the side of the road and pulled out behind me to give me **** about the tints.

 

Did he take points off? I got pulled over in my DSM and as soon as I did I rolled both windows down and he had nothing else to get me for so he had me roll the window half up and put his tint detector on both sides. I ended up getting a ticket and points off, so I went to Walmart and got this "tint off" spray and took picture of me taking it off, brought the film into court as "exhibit a" and the receipt and pictures and the DA that was pretty funny and dropped the ticket completely.

I only removed my 2 side windows, check your state, but the other windows might be okay. Hope that helps.

 

or just find a car like yours put ur tag and take pictures of the doors open with the windows half down from behind showing ur tag, thats what i have done when i gotten over 500$ in tickets, freaking miami cops have nothing else to do lol

 

Wish I could, but in CT they make you bring your car to the DMV to inspect the car once you get a ticket. If the tints fail, they razor blade them right off.

I just got them put on about 6 weeks ago too, and payed good money to have them done right. They look great.
