Since someone put up an Evo 5 vs Evo8 thread to get a comparison, I wonder what some of the peope who had previous Evo versions in other countries think about how it does against the US-spec Evo. Supposedly the AYC helps turn in, but I don't know if there is anything else besides that.

 

one of the advantages the US spec evo has over the previous ones is that the torsional rigidity has significantly improved, thus making the chassis better balanced. another is that the turbo of the new evo has been uprated to a titanium turbo.

you sure we get a titanium turbo in the us evo?

 

yup comes with a twin scroll titanium turbo, with forged engine internals. boost is factory set to max at 1.31 bar.

Yup IN MALAYSIA you have a titanium turbo, AYC, ACD and a six speed. We don't have any of that here in the USA.

He was asking about US spec EVO's compared to previous generation EVO's available in other countries.

Yup, in Malaysia we have that. The US spec evo i know does not come with ACD and AYC, but no titanium turbo? sorry was not aware of that. Even the torque and hp levels are lower than the JDM model.
