Replacing HIDs

Do I need to remove my IX bumper to replace the old HIDs? The passenger side was turning pink so I decided to to get a pair of 5000K to replace the OEM 4300K.

I've searched.

No, you have access to change the bulb without having to take off the bumper.

I've not personally done it but I've heard you can sqeeze it by. I'm just going to take mine off when I do mine.

after looking at the headlights on my VIII it would be hard to do it but possible. Removing the bumper is not too hard though so I would just do that

I took a look as well and if only I had skinny finers, I would be able to reach in. As much as I dont want to remove my bumper after a blizzard. It looks like I might have to.

It's very easy, no stress. You can leave the plastic undertray connected and just pull the bumper forward, but not completely off. That will save you some time (and those annoying clips).

Those annoying clips are why I don't even run my undertray. I did my map o2 dump and never put it back on.

Undertray-less evos with stock intercoolers usually have big gaps (mostly an VIII issue) where you can see the street. That's why I still have mine.

Eclipses were similar in their headlight design; you had to remove the bumper to get them off. However, the bulbs could be changed out without removing anything.

Look at the bright side, you get to remove all the bugs and leaves stuck behind your mesh grills!
