The round ones will eventually start to get compressed, I have a few that show .024 is as thin as .018 *sigh* Anyway...every car is different, keep in mind these are all starting points. My 9ES's were having firing issues until I set them at .019, now it runs great

there's a spark plug gap thread about gapping and they said.028.
