not another JDM Rear Bumper

Hey guys looking to pick up a JDM rear bumper off parts dot net however I'm worried about fitment. It clearly states
"Intended for OFF-ROAD Use Only! The Japanese bumper requires modification or removal of your USDM Rear Bumper Reinforcement."
now would fitment be a problem if i picked up JDM Evolution IX Rear Bumper Retainer / Reinforcement they offer??? Does the bumper then line up with all the clips etc.? Has anyone grabbed one off of parts dot net? THANK YOU GUYS!

I think you can just get the rear crash beam offered by Driveline.

Not sure if it works with the Evo 8 though

I had my factory crashbeam modified by my local muffler shop guy for $40 and it was a much better alternative than paying all that $$$ for that Demonworkz one

Though do you think it could take a beating if someone hit you from behind? If so i think I might have to reconsider a crash beam...

I can attest that mine will perform the same as stock , as mine was done with plenty of welds to ensure it's strength

The crash beam either needs to be removed or replaced with a compatible/modified one. The bumper retainer can be transfered from bumper to bumper as long as you have replacement rivets and a rivet tool to use obviously. The license plate bracket of the usdm bumper will not fit with the jdm bumper. You can modify the usdm parts, but it requires you to have the ability to trim and cut metal...nothing heavy, a dremel will do. This depends on how handy you are of course. So there are 3 things that need to be addressed. The jdm bumpers are so widely bought and used, fixing the issues are now easy. Buy from Driveline, they will be able to supply anything you need for installation.

i was actually going to pick it up at driveline. about 45 mins away. I wonder if they could help with an install haha! they sell the modified crash beam but I could spend 200 dollars on a fuel pump or even injectors. =s
