How is your APR Splitter holding up?
How is your APR Splitter holding up?
Just wanted to see how other members have been doing with their apr windsplitters? I usually take mine off in the winter time, but one of the brackets for the hangars stripped off the bumper and I'm missing hardware for it. Anyone know where I can buy replacement parts?
I really like this front lip but I feel like it's useful life is somewhat limited. Has anyone heard of them ripping off before?

APR on evo X flies off at 120
FWIW, mine ripped off at 120mph in the rain...ran right over the damn thing. I used every single bolt and bolt hole it came with and even drilled some more evenly where I could put some plastic snap ins for extra hold. APR asked if I used the 2 adjustable bracket bolts (which I didn't) and said they wouldn't replace it if not used. Not that those two bolts would've done anything at that speed including a nice downpour to add more weight to the downforce even if you could find frame to bolt it into.
nice I installed mine back in 2006. It was working great up until the hangers got effed up.
evo_xtatic, I remember seeing a couple of posts way back when of someone's who ripped off like that too. Do you think it was caused by the carbon fiber not holding up or the hangars failing?
Let's see some pics of your setups!

Yes that is excactly what i did. The washers that it came with seemed like they were almost cutting into the windsplitter, so i replaced them with some with a slightly larger diamter (increase surface area). It seemed to have helped, I'll snap some pics of mine on my way out
There was a ly evo here on the forums which I believe was a dedicated track car, and he drilled like 10 or 15 extra holes to mount the windsplitter, and I don't think he ran into any problems

I was thinking about mounting it to my OEM SE lip but some of the black tabs that hold it on are coming loose, so I might just buy a CF SE lip and use that instead.
You can install it underneath the se lip but I think the hangars should be mounted on the actual bumper. I took some pics of my splitter but I can't upload them until I get home. You can definitely see stress cracks on the clearcoat where the hangars are bolted up, but everything else seems fine.
The splitter is definitely functional. I had some minor vibration in my steering wheel and after I installed the splitter it disappeared

This is from a pm way back in the day, I haven't been able to find any pictures of vboy's setup though.

i tried to install mine today but the holes didn't line up at all, one 1/2 did , but the other 1/2 was not even close. And even if the holes did line up it would have made the splitter look weird, one side was fitting flush with the wheels arch, but again the other side was sticking out about an inch to a half inch???? My under tray fit just fine, its the correct part for my yr, I have an 06 ix and the instruction stated this was for a 2006 to 2007 evo9? so why did this happen any ideas how to fix it???
