It seems as if the solder could be worn from where the light is supposed to be. That's what is sounds like. If thats the case just go to radio shack and buy solder and a soldering gun and redo it. Its a pretty simple job to do. Do you have any pictures of the socket its supposed to sit in?

Well...you could unplug something...crank sensor, maf sensor etc.

See if you get a CEL. I'm not sure if it's supposed to flash with the acc on.

The ses light should stay lit for a sec or two during ignition.

Are you looking for the bulb or the cluster?? I had to order the bulb online from somewhere. It's been a while since I ordered them. I have a blue one if you need it. I just have to find my old cluster.

Oh and did you try turning the bulb around. I know your arent dumb, but when I was changing the bulbs I learned they had to be a certain way in. The whole positive/negative thing elluded me that day for some reason.

I guess I'll have to pull it apart again, I tryed a couple differant bulbs. One of them must have been in the correct way. Is it possible that if a previous owner had the car tuned that it may have been disabled completely? Is this a possablility?

I dont think you could disable the cel completely, that would be something you would not want to do. Maybe check all your fuses, maybe one is blown?
