Question of clutch and ACD related issue

Alright heres the scenario, I recently sold my E46 M3 to get back to an Evo. I have been shopping around lately and recently came across an 05 MR Edition Evolution. I drove 2 1/2 hours away to view this car and upon getting there immediately after taking the drivers seat I notice something is funny with the clutch. Seems to be engauging very, very high in the pedal and it doesnt really pull the car foward. Once you start going and get into boost, the clutch starts to slip. Upon driving the car around nearly anytime the clutch starts slipping, ALL 3 ACD lights light up on the dash. In order to clear them you must turn off and restart the car. But once again as soon as you start going and the clutch slips, boom all 3 lights are on.

Now the car to me clearly needs the clutch replaced. However I am now worried something might be up with the transfer case and ACD unit, all 3 lights should not light up. Does any know have any more possible knowledge on this? I may be able to get the car for a good deal, but its not gonna be worth it if I need to spend thousands to replace whatever else may have issues.

Thanks guys!

Congrats on selling the M3! if you dont mind could you possibly pm how much you sold it for... and your problem i believe is the ACD pump on its way out... are you buying the car from a dealer or private sale?

PM sent. Car is a private sale.

So if the ACD pump is on its way out, is that also cause for the clutch slippage...or thats a clutch problem in itself and needs to be replaced? Is ACD pump a pricey fix?

car has two issues. first one is clutch is slipping, you need a clutch. good time for an upgrade.
second issue is ACD pump on its way out not supplying enough pressure,

these two are not linked however probably a lot easier to do the pump with transmission out of the way lol

ACD has absolutely nothing to do with the clutch

And just because the 3 lights are on doesnt mean its a pump failure. A dealership can scan the acd system and let you know whats wrong

Easier to change the pump with the tranny out of the way?? The pump is right behind the front bumper on the drivers side, don't see what the tranny would have to do with that. Also, because the clutch is slipping doesn't necessarily mean its the clutch. Since it's hydraulic it could even be the master or slave cylinder going bad.

You have absolutely no clue what your talking about....

The trans would not even make a difference in changing a acd pump considering its behind the front bumper.....and i dont know how you were able to diagnose his car saying the acd pump is on its way out when all you know is ther 3 lights are on.... there could be a few different problems. A+ on giving bad advice

Here's my advice OP: find a decent evo, there's plenty well kept evos for sale, start in the FS forums, don't buy a car that's going to be a headache from the beginning.

I agree ^, i am also in the process of finding a good Evo, just because its a good deal does not mean that you should buy it. Think long term

Ok so it could be a number of problems im now gathering. Could be the clutch, could be the slave. Could be the ACD pump, maybe not.

Hmm decisions decisions. Dont know if this car will even be worth it. Its nice, very nice. But like someone put it dont want to get into a headache..

Could also be something as stupidly simple as adjusting the TPS, loosen the screws and move it back and forth till the lights go away. BUT it could also be the pump, so get it scanned ASAP if you're interested.
