60K service- where to get parts

Hey guys, planning on doing my 60k service soon... just wondering where some of you guys bought your parts from (I'm bargain hunting). Also if people could chime in on recommendations regarding OEM vs. aftermarket pieces as well as optional maintenance that might be beneficial in this endeavor that'd be great.. thanks!

Order the kit from mitsubishiparts.net (vendor on here).

Do it right and replace everything in the kit. Use only OEM parts, you can opt for kevlar belts if you want but certainly not needed.

If you are doing the install yourself I recommend buying the three timing tools from Jays Racing. Makes life a lot easier

Good Luck

Scroll down close to the bottom, just under the "turbo and exhaust gasket kit"

I actually got my 60k service parts from www.massimopower.com. They used to be a vendor on here, but aren't anymore. I got everything for around $250, and I do mean everything:

-Water Pump
-Balance Belt Tensioner
-Balance Belt
-Timing Belt
-Timing Belt Tensioner
-Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley
-Timing Belt Idler Pulley

You could try www.rockauto.com as well.

You can get the parts pretty cheap on the forum market place. In fact I am selling a brand new OEM lower timing cover and balancer tensioner PM me if you want them.

Check the forum market place as well, or even post a WTB (want-to-buy) thread. People are eager to check those on a daily basis, and this forum sees a lot of traffic in those areas. You have a lot of resources available to you on here, I dont think youll have a hard time finding a good deal, especially with all of the extra support from peers on the forums.

Unless you do some serious research on the parts, go with mitsubishi parts. Either from the dealer or some place that gets them from the dealer.

This does not list and unsure if it includes the following which will add $ to job:

-Hydrolic Tensioner (You'd be an idiot not to replace this with the belt)
-Tensioner Pulley
-Idler Pulley
-Balance Belt Tensioner Pulley
-Water Pump

The site says that including the water pump will add $80 for an Evo VIII and $220 for an Evo IX.
