my problems at 13k miles

8700 miles and NO problems. No odd noises, not brake issues, not clutch issues. I've had the car 7 months now.

and i recently descovered that my stock exhaust has made my bumper yellow(on my silver evo). the dealership does not know what to do but they have contacted the head mistu reps about this problem becuase. i have the most miles out of all the evo's sold there so im the ghenney pig(sp). i think ive had the most problems too which sucks. i might get a new bumper out of all this but, they might not give me a new bumper becuase it will be a recuring issue. they said somthing about a new exhaust. i think and extended one. but i said i dont want that and for them to just replace my bumper. i wont know what the deal is till monday.

those are my problems as of 13k miles.
First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you have these annoying problems. I've got over 14K miles in mine and basically I don't have problems.
let me clarify that, I have the brake shudder from certain speeds and some whistling or othe noises due to tires on the road and wind. I have not had the exhaust problem, but I had my catback installed about 10K miles ago.

The recall was to check for water intrussion, I took mine back and they found no problem. I found the open hole in the firewall where water could come in, but it does not seem to (I used the hole to route my boost gauge line)

The brake shudder is probably not warped rotors but maybe some of the brake pad deposits that other threads explain or even some unever tire wear or balance issue (I notice that the problem is not the same after I changed tires last friday)
Anyway, this brake "problems" are definitely not unique to the EVO. I've had them with every high performance car I've owned in the last 10 years.

The discoloration should be covered under warranty. Soot build up is another problem and it's due to the car running rich for safety purposes. You gotta learn to live with soot build-up.

Your clutch problem is a pain, but it looks like they took care of it. I don't want to minimize your problems (I'm not there to see first hand), but I encourage you to look realistically at your car and make sure that the problems you are facing are unique to your car and not common to all EVOs.......

so many little problems i'm 50\50 now with a evo maybe a sti instead.....all these little problems is jus from mitisubishi and their quality of work , my friends eclipse gsx had all kinds of electrical problem and what not makes me wonder about mitsubishi..dont get me wrong i think the evo is a nice car but the quality of the car kind of sucks ...clutch probnlems ,noise , brakes , rattling dash , bending door frame???..un even tire wear everything under 20 thousand miles..makes me wonder what the car will be like after 50 thousand miles...my rsx type s had only 15000 miles had all kinds of performance upgrades ,aem , mugen hondata, greddy parts and the car gets abused everyday and not one problem with the car.

I don't deny that the quality is not of stellar reputation, but the truth so far is that my EVO, with all it's little problems is no worse than any other car I've own lately, including late model Miatas, Nissans, Hondas, WRX, etc. And much better than the MB 2.3 16 valve, the VW and the POS '91 Mercury Capri I had in the past. Oh yeah, my '96 Integra GSR with a Jackson Racing SC and several other engine and suspension mods was quitre fast but died a tragic death due to engine failure.
So far the EVO has a sporadic brake shudder and a few road or wind noises. The recall was nothing. I don't think that's bad at all. The WRX had all the same issues plus several more including gas leaks, rattles, etc.
To each his own, but the EVO so far has been a pretty well made and trouble free car after 15K miles (knock on wood)
