Just keep receipts for aftermarkets parts such as intercooler, turbo, etc. Recently I had an accident with a deer and my insurance paid for my aftermarket FMIC to be replaced. If you had a receipt of even an invoice to show to them then it should be taken care of.

I had an accident in July. Aftermarket innercooler is all that got destroyed as far as the aftermarket goes. I am with USAA and they didn't even ask about mods or anything just shelled out 9K for all my part. They will put only stock parts back on your car however regardless of you declaring your mods. They claim the regulations of "saftey" for the use of OEM only.

You need a folder or receipts but I carry a separate policy (cheaper in the long run) for mods to the car. Car is insured for value and then an additional cash policy for whats on it and in it.

State Farm. Depending on your relationship with the agent (ie: time being customer, number of cars, number of claims made), you may or may not need receipts. That being said, they cover all parts at their cost to you and sometimes more.
