Squeaking noise coming from the belts

Well my car had the 60k service done before I got the car, with the receipt to prove it, and now I seem to have developed a squeaking noise in my engine bay. I haven't really taken a closer look yet, but it does sound like a pulley or something... Is there anything common that goes on these? Could I have gotten some bad OEM parts in the 60k service?

If you set the pre tension of the timing belt to tight then it will squeal also.

Does it go away when warmed up? If u take the belt off does the noise go away? If it does could be the belt tentioner or even the belt if not maybe you timing belts to tight

Check your crank pulley too, there is a thread that was just bumped, where the crank pulley bolts back out and shear off.

I have a car engine that has the same noises as well....anyone have a link on DIYs for timing belt and accessory belt replacement. I looked at my car and its far more complicated to do a belt in that tight engine bay as opposed to a RWD car.

Well I looked at the accessory belt and it was starting to crack in a few places, so I bought a new belt and tried replacing it. THE NEW BELT DOESN'T ****ING FIT!!!! I've been at it for the last 3 hours and just cant get it on the last pulley.

Would said timing belt I sugested to remove the drive belt and see if the noise is still there if it would mean it coming from the timing belt. And the noise u have is coming from ur drive belt have the same noise on my car

Make sure it's not one of the idler pulleys that a lot of people don't replace because of laziness. I should know because I was once one of those people, lol.

if you search.. damn near all evos have a pulsing chirp/squeal noise at idle during warm up... its nothing to worry about and nothings wrong with the car... i first noticed mine at 600 miles. i replaced that entire motor at 2k do to the 3rd piston not liking its home anymore... and the brand new crate motor from mitsu did the same thing... exact same noise... hell if i didnt have the rod that came out of the block i'd swear it was the same motor.

so you might be chasing ghosts bro... or you might have a semi serious issue... best of luck... i hope it works out for you
