i've been away for 4 months and no one has started my car. there is maybe a 1/4 tank of gas in it and im just concerned on what i need to do before i start my car because i dont wana damage anything. the car has been in a garage but i was just wondering if i should do anything before i start the car? any suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks

 

You can splash some fresh gas and put it on a trickle charger for a while if your worried but if it was me I'd just try and turn it over.

Worst is the battery went dead but as I said trickle charger

 

Ummmmmm what. It'll take some time if completely dead but it will charge. Done it more times then I can count.

If it sat where it got below freezing the battery could not only be dead but frozen. If it was exposed to extreme cold, check the electrolyte levels in the cells. If one shows dry, the battery case is cracked.
