Quote: It's the injector resistor box guys. On the fire wall you'll see the metal casing plug going into the bottom with 4 white wires out the top.

I had the issue P0201. Replaced the resistor pack and problem solved

I second this. I changed this part out (part#MR561990) cost me about a hundred bucks from the dealer. Its a plug and play part and easy to install. It's located on the firewall on the passenger side next to a heat sink. (metal thing with fins) I had changed the part and been driving for a week without any problems. My old one was very corroded at the top.

I haven't started my 03 Evo 8 for 4-6 years, and when I tried to started again it won't start. The issue came down to new fuel pump/filter, and clogged injectors.

Once the car started, now i Pulled P0201 to P0204, after I deleted the codes then pulled again I got P0204.

To check for Injector Resistor measure terminals:

1-3
4-3
5-3
6-3
All between 5.8-6.2 ohms at 20c or 68f. See attachment for pin order.

Got injectors cleaned, still have P0204, gonna pull box to test for resistance.

Going to check on the resistors then will post update!

I recently had this same set of codes pop on my car for Cyl #2. Removed the resistor box and getting an open circuit on one of the pins.

Is the part number listed in this thread (MR561990) applicable to both the VIII and IX?

Just wanted to confirm yet another case of this situation. I was throwing the P0202 code, replaced the resistor part MR561990 and problem solved!

I'm giving this a bump, as I suddenly ran into this issue out of no where.

I pulled my Injector Resistor Box and tested for resistance.

Pins:
3-1 : 6.5
3-4 : 6.5-6.9
3-5: 6.5-6.7
3-6: 27.80-29.03

So I am deeming this box faulty. Will be ordering another one from Mitsubishi tomorrow. Will let you guys know if this fixes the issue ( though, it should ).
