Tranny issue.

hello,
I have a 2003 mitsubishi lancer evo 8.
While under acceleration and around corners, my 4th gear would slide back into
neutral, their seems to be no locking mechanism to hold 4th gear in place.
that means while driving I have to hold onto 4th gear with my right hand.
Can you tell me whats wrong with my car?.

thanks.

Depends on what your plans for the future are, are you looking to run 400+ hp? i can rebuild the transmission for your if you want to send it to me in Long Island City, New York. A friends shop, or you can send it to Shep!

Mine was popping out of 5th and the only way to keep it in was like you stated to hold it in gear lol. Then as i was driving to LIS, New York i got stuck within 5 minutes of driving and the trans actually froze up on me i had to trailor it the rest of the way (45 minutes)

I was thinking more of shep or buschur , they seem to throw in some extra goodies.
Although been a noob that i am i do need to have a mechanic remove the tranny , and install it back on.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but you have more options that just Sheptrans.

TRE
JacksTransmissions
Buschur

I'm sure there are more than just these shops as well.
