Not Sure What To Do?

I have been the proud owner of a Evo IX MR since April of 06. I bought the car new simply because I always wanted one and I felt like I had to own this car and that was my final chance to purchase a brand new one. Fast forward 5 years and here the car sits in my Garage day after day never really get any use out of it. I drove it today to bring my son to school and get milk (I know that sounds cliche but I really did). I has 16k miles on it and still smells new the mileage came from the 3 trips up to the Dragon. I never have really had any use for the car I have a family vehicle (Nissan Armada), a work car (Cadillac SRX), and the Evo. So here my Evo sits I have thought about getting rid of it but never have been able to bring myself to do it I wanted to keep it forever but the reallity of that is still it just sitting there. I always wanted to take it to the local road course but reallity always rears its head and I will never have the time to. Anybody in the same situation? What did you do?

If you're not in financial hardship (which it doesn't quite sound like), I'd keep it. Make it your summer car. I wouldn't say it will become a collectors car, but if it isn't driven that much it may hold value fairly well.

if you dont need the cash hang onto it. The Evo 9 is what you'd call a "Modern Classic"

I really think I am going to try to sell it I can't think of any reason to really hang on to it other than to just have it.

I would agree on selling it.. it is just sitting there. I had my evo and s2000 at the same time, and my s2 would sit for long periods due to the evo being a daily.. so i decided just to sell the s2 as i didnt use it enough to keep it.. whatever you do, goodluck!

Its the opposite for me, bought it new back in the summer of 2006 and drive it to infinity at 10,000 miles per year, its our familys work car. No complains the car is FLAWLESS. At such low mileage youd break my heart if you sell it, make time to appreciate its potential. On the other hand keepin it garaged isnt bad either you never know when youll need a fast getaway car with extra room you just never know.

You should wait until Mitsubishi "officially" announces the end of the line for the Evolution series; then the value should increase considerably.

Hang on to it. If it costs you nothing, put the car on jackstands to get the weight off the suspension and tires, then just throw a cover on it. You will regret getting rid of it one day if you do decide to sell it.

+1^ I'm sure you own tons of things you don't use. everyone does. keep it. its the few times you wish you had it that always kills ya. besides heaven forbid something happens to another one of your cars then you always have a back up.

Kind of in your situation, all I do is drive to work and back and the Evo sits in the garage. Had it since Dec 2005, it's been paid off for a while, doesn't even have 12k miles yet. I decided to make it go fast. If you can keep it then keep it. If not you'll certainly miss it later.
