Besides... 8 with a nosechop FTW!

welcome back! a stock 03 for 15k with 45k on it is a really good deal esp since you know the guy personally and knows he takes/took care of it. my only suggestion would be to put atleast bolt ons on, a pump, injectors, evo IX turbo and bov, exhaust, intercooler and a good tune. it will stay perfectly reliable but will wake it up so much more and will become the car it shouldve been from the factory. G/L with everything and keep us posted!

the car is truly stock..not modded and then made back to stock... its an original 2003 and the owner is in his 60's... I think thats rare and i don't think I'll mod it, plus I want to stay in the stock class for SCCA (rallyX and autoX)...

I loved my evo 8... the GTR is awesome as I said, it's just that the evo can do it all, be just as fun and I'm not one of the guys that bought a GTR to say " I have a GTR"...I actually tracked it... if I wanted to just drive it on the streets then I could afford it...but I wanna track it and rotors, pads, tires, wheels, fluids etc are expensive and go fast....

as for a Evo 9... sure Id love to get one.. evo9 MR is the one to get right? but $15k and the miles is too good to pass on I think

You;d have to be really loaded just to afford to get one. LOL. Godzilla is my dream car but I'm content to make my evo and GodZilla Killer.

So... i test drove the car... I cannot believe how much lighter and more alive and more raw, the evo is to drive than anything else... I was very excited...what a blast these cars are... The GTR feels huge in comparison and the steering on the Evo is just in another league and the car can slide around corners....mmmmmm

only thing I didnt like was that the rear spoiler has the resin coming off the CF portion and it has a moonroof.... I didn't think any evo's had moonroofs... kinda annoying...

how easy to take off the spoiler?

Funny, I'm on the edge of getting a GTR. It's good to get some perspective and a nice slap in the face to keep me from blowing $60-70K on a used GTR. I'm on my 3rd Evo now with a 350Z thrown in there for good measure. Gotta say, there isn't another car on the market (with the exception of the GTR and other misc cars I couldn't possibly afford) that I'd rather have right now.

I love my Evo. No other car I've ever driven makes me smile the way it does. I like the GT-R a lot, but I'm not much for comfort/amenities so I prefer my gutted stitch-welded caged Evo.

Threads like this make me think things through. I've been shopping for a C6 Z06 lately. I'm starting to wonder if I should bite the bullet and sell the Evo to make the Z payment cheaper. Or just pay the Evo off and keep it and get the Z as well.

I'm afraid I'm going to get a Z and a few months down the line I'll miss the Evo. And I like my Evo. I don't want someone elses Evo.

My 03 evo was the best car I ever owned...

I like my GTR alot... But there is a rawness I miss... I think the stuff about the GTR being "souless" is bs... It's a great car... But watch Jeremy Clarksons GTR review from his "thrillers" DVD and you understand the dilemma... He says... Going 150 miles an hour in a go-kart is thrilling, but 500mph in a Boeing isn't... While I don't think the GTR Is a Boeing but there just isn't the rawness or that "bolted in" feel I got behind the wheel of the evo.

I think to get the same rush you probably need an exige S, or a Porsche gt3 rs (if you wanna step up past GTR money) ... Maybe the next car will be a gt3 rs or cayman r lol....

OK!!... change of plans... my GF is getting rid of her Prius...and taking my 2010 GTI (DSG trans 4dr)... and I am going to get a 2010 Evo X GSR... I need it to double as a daily driver so for racing id rather have a 8 or 9... but since I need it to be the best of both worlds I am getting the 2010 GSR (2010 because it at least has bluetooth)...

granted I was on track once in the GTR and the phone rang in the car and I freaked out for a second...haha... I answered though lol
