Moldey smell coming from vents?

For the past week or so I have had this moldey smell in my evo.

I looked the other day under the chairs floor mats, everywhere for some trash rotting?

I had my lame *** service center do my recall about 3-4months ago. Said it was ok, I bet they didnt even look at it!

Does this sound like water getting in under the seal? And where exactly is this so I can check it out?

They are going to be in for an ear full if it is the recall, that they more than likely didnt even look at?

Thanks!

Where do you live? This may sound crazy but you might have a dead bird or animal stuck
somewhere in your engine bay? HAHAHA I know, it's sounds dumb. But my folks live in
Pueblo and dad used to get mice in his engine bay and cook them when he''s driving around
not knowing he's a mobile BBQ. HAHAHA

its not funny man, i was driving back from a huge party a few years ago in an old cadicallac and ran over a dead dog, within 2 weeks the worst cheese smell came out.. i'd suggest after running over and people or dogs next time, to bring it to a hoist and wash under the car, try not to splash too much gore on the BOSS pants

First inspect for dead critters, as the weather becomes increasingly colder, animals seek warm shelters such as engine bays. Perhaps something got in and was mangled to death. Also, spray Lysol in your exterior vents while runnung the a/c, I do that once a year.

my woman's car had the excact same problem except her's was a golf. The problem with her's is that when she turns on the AC, the water from it didn't drain right. it just got clogged somewhere and after time, the moldy smell started to come on and strong too. have the dealer check around the AC. it's a start.

My 240sx had the same thing going on. I ended up popping the cowl at the base of the windshied out and cleaning the windshield bed and all air inlets that are under there. The problem was all the debris that gets under there had clogged up the drain so everytime I washed the car or it rained the water would just sit there and grow mold.

however the evo should be too new to have too much gunk under there.

Again, about the recall,,,,, where does the "tech" look in order to see if you need the recall repaired?

And where are the drain plugs for the evo, and does it have an in cab filter? I think I might have seen one behind the glove box when it was off last week?

Thanks.

There's a service bulletin about a moldy smell related to the A/C. Apparently the dealer can spray some kind of coating on it to fix it. I can e-mail the TSB if you PM me your e-mail address.
