I just bought a Evo 8 a few weeks back and i notice a grinding/marbles clanking around noise that seems to be getting louder mainly during deceleration...When i engage the clutch it goes away...Also sometimes when i release the clutch in 1st gear i hear a grinding noise...Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be??? Thanks

 

maybe old clutch. worn out throw out bearing.

 

^ both possibilities, also if you have a tbe your dp may be rubbing somewhere. When I first got mine I thought there was a worn out to bearing until I was able to get under it.

 

+1 on the TOB, I gotta replace mine when I drop the tranny soon

 

before you go threw the trouble of changing the clutch and tob check the tranny fluid level just to make sure.
