How much do you think a new paint job would cost....

Just a ball park estimate, how much would a new paint job cost for an Evo 9?

Mine's silver and I want to go to white. I heard the price is slightly higher going from anything dark to a lighter color like black to white.

Anyone got a clue? Paint isn't my expertise (neither is wiring but that's another story).

It depends. Any body work gonna be involved like dents or dings? Are u planning on getting it jammed and engine bay painted as well? Going from black to white will cost more than staying with the same or close color. I would say around a minimum of 1600 bucks is what ur looking at if body is in fair shape. U could do the body work and prep work yourself and save a whole lot of money if u know how and the shop doesn't mind since that is the time consuming part although alot of places don't like it since that's less money they make. If u did the body work your looking at maybe 1k max

depends on the shop mostly. reputable shops will charge more, of course maaco and other cheap shops charge less. engine bay, door jams, entire color change require numerous amounts of time and prepping, which brings up the price as well as material costs for layers of clear etc.

Does that include them painting the engine bay and trunk? I definitely want the engine bay to match...so they'd have to take out the engine & everything? Do most paint shops ensure that they'll connect everything back correctly?!

I'm interested in a new paint job too...we all know the factory Mitsu paint sucks *****.

My car would require NO body work, everything is still like new (except the mileage). I wouldn't want anything flashy or expensive (flake, candy paint, etc). I just want to go from Apex Silver to "different" shade of black.

I want a paint job SO good that the only way someone would know it wasn't original...was to see it written on the insurance card.

This would probably cost no less than $3K?

I wouldn't trust any body shop to drop my motor...as I use to do collision repair for a living.

If they're painting everything the only proper way to do it is to pull the engine and all the trim, etc., etc.

It'd be cheaper to sell your car or trade for a white one

And smarter... don't destroy a nice car by repainting it another color you will destroy the value of your car.

In this case, count on a whole lot more than $3K.

Expect to pay 5-10k for a factory like paint job. Not only do you have to get all in the jambs, you also have to paint the backside of the doors, trunk, hood, remove the glass, tons of prep, materials, etc.

~$2,000 for a junk; ~$5,000 for OEM-level exterior-only paint job; $7,000+ for a whole car.

Wait until your going to build the Motor and do it at the same time. 5K for a shell rolled off a flat bed.
