Ive ran single cylinder Briggs motors on propane and they burn so much cleaner. We did a study on it for one of my senior design projects.

Propane burns super clean, it's already in gaseous form when it enters the cylinder, buuuut 1.36gal of propane to 1gal of gasoline and apparently the price of propane has gone up a bit.

Natural gas would be optimal even though like propane it's also slightly less efficient than gasoline. At an average cost of $2.00-2.30 an equivalent gallon it's the price winner even considering the disparity in efficiency. You would actually save money unlike E85 where it's a wash as the reduced cost benefit is eaten up by the extra fuel you have to burn. CNG is 130 octane, it's already gaseous so a more complete burn than liquid fuels is possible and it's very easy on the engine. It does not absorb moisture out of the air, it's always consistent from the pump, and finding a fill station is easier than you'd think.

BUUUT, the cost of conversion, the lacking storage capacity, the giant CNG bomb under the car
(although the DOT CNG tanks are apparently pretty tough but heavy)

I might try to run the rally truck on it, that would be fun to ditch these primitive liquid fuels....

why would anyone convert an evo over to propane?
these arent economy cars, they are made to go fast, and to go fast takes fuel and lots of it

I guess you missed the 130 octane and the already gaseous so no atomization needed memo.

You didn't read the thread did you...
