Buschur Racing Stage 4 Kit

I am considering a Buschur Stage4 kit soon. It is about $4k...

What would go with? Should I go with a turbo kit instead of spending $4k on stock turbo upgrades?

Which one would have more street driveability?

If you have $4k, what would u go with?

Memo

What are you planning on doing with your Evo? If Road racing/autocross, go with the stock turbo upgrades. If drag racing or straight line speed, go for the turbo upgrade.

Talk to 4G63>0000, he has a Stage 4 in his car, and I gotta say it's pretty damn sweet

I'd go with stock turbo upgrades.

Think of it this way, with 4K into the BR stage 4 kit you get around 360 HP on pump gas and maintain stock spool up and driveability.

If you get a turbo upgrade WITH NO OTHER UPGRADES you will be choaking the living daylights out of it, not be able to run high boost because you don't have fuel management and injectors, be choaking it down through a restrictive exhaust and intake system, and you will not remove any weight from the car. Yes, the BR turbo upgrade would be cheaper than the BR stage 4 setup, but you would end up with not much more power than stock (turbo upgrade on bone stock car I would be surprised to see 300 at the wheels) and have slower spool up to boot.

Do the Stage IV.
I have a variation of it. I used HKS 272's instead of the 264's, have an HKS EVC V instead of Buschur's Dial-A-Boost and I played around with the SAFC-II some.

The car boogies in a serious way. From 3k to redline, it's a constant pull and really pushes you back. The car has an 11 in it, but I'm no drag racer. Mostly daily driving and road courses. You will be very happy with the Stage IV...if not, there's something wrong with you.

I would also get some gauges. I have boost, EGT, oil pressure, oil temp, volt meter and water temp.

Thanks guys for your help...
I think I will be going with Buschur.. now time to give them a call to see if they have all the parts in stock..

How is the ride with 272's? The only reason I planned to go with 264's was because of the idling problems...

How and where did you install these gauges? Any pics? I'm interested in EGT, Air/Fuel mix, oil pressure, and oil temp. Volt meter and water temp I can live without. I already have the JUN boost gauge on order. For track use, I'd love to have tranny and diff temps as well. I can't figure out where to mount the gauges I want without totally ruining the car.

Hey 4g on Buscher's site it say's to use race gas for the stage 4. Do you run pump gas with your set-up? How streetable is it? Thanks.

Guys,
The 272's are kind of lopey at idle, but it's all about what you're willing to deal with. I can handle a somewhat rough idle since it gives me a real nice top end that you can't get with the 264's. You can tune it out with the SAFC-II, but I don't want to keep it that rich at idle and foul plugs out.

As for the gauges, I got them from SPA Technique. They're 52mm 2 in 1's with a digital readout, peak/hold, measurement selection (Metric or english), backlight selection (red or green) and a whole bunch of other features. I have to take pics of this setup, it's a pretty neat install. Put the radio down where that storage space was and put the gauges in the radio din slot with a billet aluminum panel from 42nd draft designs. I might change the setup, but for now, these are all the gauges I need. Air/'fuel is kind of a waste unless you have a wideband 02, IMO. I only really use the boost, EGT, oil temp and water temp gauges. I also have warning lights hooked up for certain gauges. If anyone wants to check them out, I'm in NY, so shoot me a pm if you're local.

I only use pump gas, hence the tweaked SAFC-II settings. Car pulls like a banshee from 3k to redline with tons of midrange torque. The car's in a good place right now, I recommend these mods to anyone looking for more power.

As far as quality of product, Buschur's is the best I've seen so far, and I've seen a lot of absolute crap in the aftermarket both here and in the Audi sector. I wouldn't go anywhere else, period.
