First post in a while...but I did conduct a search and couldn't find anything close.
I have an '03 Evo with 137k, hardly anything done to it but the radiator just went about a month ago. Had that fixed and everything has been fine up until yesterday. A few weeks ago it started off as a faint knock, sounding as if I had a nail in the tire. Yesterday the knock became louder and more frequent (as I shift gears, as soon as I let off the gas, as I turn the wheel and apply gas) and when I brake, the pedal isn't on the floor but there is a noticable gap inbetween where it stopped before, and where it begins to brake now. This morning it just became even worse, where when I'm shifting and the clutch is down, its at its loudest and as I'm driving the knocking is consistant.
Now I'm 3/4 certain it has something to do with the brakes, but I'm hoping it could be something less major. I'm going to take it to the mechanic tomorrow morning but I would like some expert owner advice, if anyone has gone through a similar situation, before I go in there blind.
Thanks in advance.

Aha. I'm not completely sure but last time I went to Mitsu they told me I needed to replace everything (front and rear rotors & pads). I had it all replaced a year ago though so I'm not sure why they wore out so quickly.

Is it a bad bearing? Try jacking it up and see if any wheels are loose. Also you could put it on 4 jack stands and put it in gear and see which wheel makes noise. I am not sure how safe that is but it will help isolate the problem.
