Towing car without transmission.....
OK, my parts are almost in for my rebuilt tranny and transfer case and I want to get my Evo towed to a car lift about 45 miles away. The problem-no tranny or transfer case in the car which means only one motor mount (passenger side) holding the engine up. I purchased an engine support bar http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb...bar-96524.html in hopes that it would be enough to hold the engine in place during the tow. Would this be enough or would I need something else? Thanks in advance.

Its definitely going on a flatbed but wanted to make sure that was enough support. I may grab some 2*6's and slide them between engine and subframe to give it more support.

Thanks for the suggestions, after spending over 5K, the last thing I want is my engine to drop out while enroute
I'm thinking about also screwing several boards together where it levels to the engine height and slide that under it as well, maybe tie that into the bottom of the engine. Thanks again

With the front axle nut loosened you cannot put the weight of the vehicle on the wheel. Doing so results in wheel bearing damage. There are fake stub axles you can use for moving the car - Mitsubishi special tools something or other.
