Unhappy Has anyone else had this problem?

My radiator took a crap and I decided to get a mishimoto radiator and fan shroud. The radiator works fine but when I tried to install the fan shroud the mounts on the top were welded on backwards. I contacted mishimoto and they wanted photos so I sent them some photos and they said they would go back to their disigner and try to find out what was the deal. I have been told I 'd be given a replacment but I was wondering if any one else has bought their fan shroud and had the same problem? Also to the people that have bought there radiator with the magnetic drain plug. Did you check to see if the plug is really magnetic? Mine wasn't.

How were the mounts put on backwards--- I have an 8 and their radiator and the top mounts are threaded cylinders--- the bottom mounts are tabs with holes, cant be backwards--- can you be more specific?

Maybe its just me but I've never heard of a magnetic drain plug for a radiator. What would be the point? How would metal shavings find their way into the coolant? I don't see the point. For one I hardly ever drain the radiator unless im pulling it out for something, or maybe every 20k miles to change the coolant.

there really is no point of it. metal shavings in the cooling system isnt going to cause any problems

O.P. post up the pics you sent mishimoto so people can see what your talking about

The tabs that are on backwards are on the fan shroud not the radiator, it's where the shroud bolts to the back side of the radiator. There is a gap about 1/2 in. if the tabs were turned around they would fit flush with the radiator like the stock shroud does. As far as the magnetic drain plug, thats what the auction stated. Iv'e never heard of a radiator drain plug that was magnetic either. I tryed to attach the pics I sent them but I couldn't get it to work, sorry.

Just got the replacement fan shroud and it's the same thing, the small L brakets are on backwards. Emailed Pat at Mishimoto, haven't heard back yet. I might just try to find a local welder and have them turn the brakets around.
