humming on right turns. help new owner
Im a new owner of an EVO 8 with 23k on it. Im loving the car so far. Although on turning the wheel to turn right at 30mph or above if you listen close you can hear a slight humming/grinding noise. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU>

Check that the plastic fender liners are not rubbing the tires. Those little clips break all the time. there is one that clips to the undertray that can cause that. If its a clicking sound, it could be CV.

23k But
The car only has 23K yes but ive been told by mechanics that when a car is stored every winter and sits alot which it has that it can cause flat spots on your bearings. Possiblity there? I hope so. Im just being optimistic about it just being the bearings.
All it takes is smacking a pot hole or curb really hard, which can put a flat spot in the bearing. I had the same thing happen to me. I bought a used VIII, was humming around corners. It passed all the wheel bearing tests too. Finally figured out it wasn't worn out sloppy, just had damaged flat spot in it. Replaced it and all was well.

Are the tires cupped from an alignment problem?
If you look at the tire edge from the side, look to see if it is cupping, i.e.: looks like a saw blade slightly with high spots and low spots at the beginning/end of the tread blocks.
You can try rotating a rear tire onto the front, but short of that, it sounds like a wheel bearing.

Thanx for all the replys. Looks like this site is solid and filled with people that actually give a turd. Anyways I found that price at 199 was just for one wheel bearing assembly through advanced auto of course. Went to Mitsubishiparts.com and wow same part for $107. Im gettin both sides and with shipping its gonna come to around 230. Not to shabby, besides waiting for the damn things to come in the mail of course. Once again, thanx for the help.
Ill try to watch these threads and help anyone else if possible. Peace.
