Keeping Engine bay heat away!

So everyone one knows there's a lot of heat with a tubular turbo manifold. I am also running SD so i make a air box today, also running a flex tube from the front air duct to the filter. Will see if it makes a difference.

Polished up!

I have been thinking about a similar setup recently, can you take a pic of how you have the flex hose mounted and ducted.

Thanks!

Very nice man, looks good! I plan on doing the same once I get rid of my ACD crap. Mind post some dimensions so if some of us want to make our own its a little easier? How is the top part attached, its hard to tell in the last pic, by screws?

Looks good. I made a similar box except I used the intake snorkel. Since I changed intake pipes I have not had a chance to make a new one.

It is riveted, ill take more pics later. Dimensions wouldnt do any good because all intakes are different, so it wouldnt work. but ill get some good pics.

The finished look is very clean, nice work. Much better than the cardboard/aluminum foil heat shield I made for one of my 1G DSM's about 10 years ago

Have basically the same thing only painted mine black and have some heat wrapping stuck to the inside of it for added insulation.

Cannot say I noticed a difference, but it certainly cannot hurt.

You made the air box to keep heat away, and then you polish it?
