Evo 8 smoking after kelford 272 Cam install, PLEASE HELP

So I installed my kelford 272's and now the car smokes quite a bit at idle.... it smells like unburnt fuel, but it is blue. The car did not smoke prior to this... Everything starts and runs fine, no check engine, no missing or anything.... what could this be?????

Did you use a blue rtv of some-sort for the cap caps or on the valve cover gasket? It could just be some of it burning off. You also could have dropped some on the manifold while installing.

How long did you let the car idle for? If it is still continuous, I would take the valve cover off to inspect everything. You might have missed a step in installing them.

i let it idle for awhile each day since install, i haven't missed any steps.. i just dont understand what the deal is with this thing... everything is torqued down proper, ec=verything is bolted back up and all... and if the CAS was 180 deg. off it would throw a code correct?

Unfortunately I can't see the video at work but if you have the CAS in the wrong way it will not throw a code. Trust me I know! Your car will run oddly though. Mine lost gas mileage and wouldn't idle properly. When I switched it around, I had knock all over the place until I got tuned again. Did you get a tune yet?

If it's smoking from the exhaust and not the engine bay then take off the valve cover and inspect EVERYTHING once again. Are you getting any noise from the motor? Are your cam caps installed correctly?

Did you do just the cams or did you do valve springs also?

I just installed cams on a friends evo 8 and the rockers can fall off fairly easy double check and if anything if you say you did everything right you might be burning off the gasket maker.
