Do you hear the motor when you turn it on? If not then there's your problem.

Search for some windshield wiper problem threads. Seems I remember some of the earlier Evo's had a problem with water leaking in from an outside windshield or cowl seal. Then the water would get into an accessory wiring harness under the dash and cause several electrical faults in the car. Not saying that's whats wrong with your car, but it is a possibility. I would think there are people on this forum that have had to deal with this issue.

Ah yes, this is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about. Wonder if this is an issue on the IX's too? Mines sat outside ever since I have owned it and hasn't had any issues.

So the conclusion is..... The wiper motor is not getting a proper ground! Everything checked out fine, when I connected the test light to the positive side on the battery and placed the point into the ground wire it didn't light up.

I cut the ground wire (black one) after the grommet in the engine bay stripped the wire connected another bare wire to it then connected it to one of the shock tower nuts to complete the ground. It'll works but just a quick fix for now until I can trace the ground and actually fix the problem.

Thanks for everyones input!

Would this be the problem too if both the front and rear wripers don't work?

Could be, read through the thread that was linked above. Easy enough to check
