I am very confused plz help!!!!
Ok so here we go, i will try to explain this as best as i can.
So i changed my front transfer case oil with GL-5 90w Oil Mobile one fully synthetic. Worked great on my non ACD transfer case 2003 evo before. I own a 2005 now.
Now my ATF reservoir was low on fluid so i deciding to bleed the system. So i got under the car and got a 10mm wrench and put a line on the nipple. I had another person turn the ignition and and press the gas pedal and i opened it, and closed it when it turned off. Fluid was going down fast and the system bled pretty well. But here is my problem. I guess to much built up and the over flow valve on top started to leak out ATF fluid bc i guess to much got into the system. And that's apparently normal. My question is why did the ATF oil start coming out of my axle Shaft???? Isnt the ATF oil and thr GL-5 oil suppose to be separated? I dont understand what the hell is going and have been researching for hours and can't find any info. I would take this to the dealer but we have a very bad dealer in town and no other ones even close to me. Please help me.

Please help if you can, i'd really appreciate it. My car has been in the garage for 2 weeks due to a dealer not being able to supply a seal and i finally get it and now this is holding me back from putting things together.
Well, I guess you found out why you ACD level was low.
Sorry, looks like your ACD clutch pack seals are shot.
If anything, I would give a call to Shep to see what they can do for you.
Good luck.

But either way, you need to remove the Transfercase and get it fixed before you do any damage.
Your ACD clutch pack seals actually keep the ACD fluid from getting mixed up with the diff fluid. But your seals seem to be leaking external. I would imagine if you checked your transfercase fluid level, it might have gone up and possibly contaminated also.

There are two things that could cause ATF to be leaking... both very bad. The first is, as previously mentioned, the ACD clutch pack seal. To the best of my knowledge if damaged the unit is non-serviceable. When I was with Mitsu I kept all the exploded transfer cases in an effort to locate the internal parts from their source(s).. my goal was to make the unit serviceable so we didn't have to keep replacing them when locals kept gernading them. I left Mitsu before I could locate parts, but that was in '08 so I'm not sure if someone has managed a rebuild kit yet... I'd actually like to know because I own a shop now and it would be good info.
The second is what I call the cross over seal... but that will usually leak exernally, if yours is leaking out of the axle seal it's not a good indication.
I'm pretty new to the Evo aftermarket and this forum, but do you guys really bleed your own ACD hydraulic system? Seems dicey to me without a scantool pump actuator.
