Playing with the idea of selling the evo. *Project*
So my Evo has been sitting for a few months. Me collecting parts, etc.
I unfortunately lost my job, and everything came to a halt. Me having no income, bills stacking up, etc.
Hasn't been easy finding a job, and looks like I may be going back to school. I used to rely on a company vehicle, and the Evo was my only vehicle. So now, I have no running vehicle and an Evo on jack stands.
The reason why I may be going back to school is because me and the ol' lady split up. Have to move out, and of course don't have back up plans other than to move back with the folks. As much as I hate to do it, it's my only option right now.
I'm a little short on finishing the evo. Pressure plate, some liquids, and registration is all it needed. I was almost there!!
I know a non running car will sell for a low price. This may be the hit I have to take seeing I need a running vehicle.
What do you guys think. I can't get another credit card/loan. Folks are tight in cash since my mother hasn't worked in about 4 years(injured at work). And don't really have family around to help.
Take the hit and move on? Hopefully another Evo will appear later in life.
I do have a clean TX title, but not in my name. Anything I can do with it?
I've had enough problems the last few months. So I please ask for the unwelcome comments to stay out. I'm hopping someone may had gone thru something similar and may have an input in this.

Sounds to me like that may be the most viable option without any income coming in. I'm sure the situation is definitely a tough one but priorities must be rearranged and met given dyer circumstances. If I were you, I'd cut my losses until the opportunity comes back up to own whatever car you want down the road when finances are steady and more secure. I personally would never ruin my credit or go very far into debt for a car, there are bigger things in life than having a toy car.

sucks to say but if you need money then sell her dude..... these cars will always be around, but if you need money to live then you have to. good luck in whatever it is you choose and do keep us posted.
Thanks guys. Looks like i may be parting some stuff and go from there. Hopefully I don't have to get rid of her, but yall have a good point. Nothing is worth being in debt or ruining my credit.
I'm working on my Paypal account. I really can't sell anything unless your local. PM me what part of PA your in. I have a buddy there.

You should see how much extra it's going to cost to just get it running, even if you have to put stock parts back in. You'll be able to sell it for more if you can get it running. IMO, a part out should be a last resort. Sell all the parts you just bought for the car though (if you still have stock parts to put back in).
^^^ I was going to say the same thing. As hard as it is for a car guy to do, you have to realize that there are more important things in life, and it seems like you've come to terms with that. So you're on the right track. Being without an evo for awhile doesn't make you any less part of the community. Hope everything works out for you!

I say you go to the local auto auction and buy a 1-2 grand beater. You'll lose more than 1-2 grand selling your Evo.
Of course if you can't obtain 1-2 grand right now I understand. I'm sitting here with a broken foot and haven't missed any work yet. Thankfully I broke my left and not my right so I can at least drive my Auto truck to work. If it was the other foot I'd be on disability right now and probably making a thread similar to yours. It doesn't take long to have things crashing down if you're not careful.
Best of luck man. It might be cheaper to take the bus until you get a few paychecks to get the Evo moving. I have no idea how valid that approach is....

I ended up finding a job. Not the best (Collection at a Call Center) but hours are there, with a fortune 100 company. They would not stop on telling me how great the benefits were.
Looks like my folks are going to let me put a grand on the credit card, and I pay them back as I can.
I did apply for school loans, and scholarships. Got quite a bit of $$$ but still going thru that. Possibly going to register today since It's looking better for me

How did you break your foot? Glad it's working out. I had broken 2 toes on each foot 2 years ago at work, and put me back 3 months. If I walk for long periods of time, I start to limp. Sucks!
Thanks bud. Thats exactly what I thought. I would rather sell a couple belongings to get it running and then sell. Parting it would put me in the hole deeper.

I had more X-rays and got a new cast yesterday and the doc said it's stabilized and won't need surgery. Phew!
Glad to hear your situation is working out. Best of luck!
