Finally, we find out what was going on...

It was the starter connection that short on the piping when the engine was torquing.....

good thing... I was about to post you must have a short somewhere that is pulling an incredible amount of amps from the battery for an extented period of time to melt the ground cable. Wires melt because the amperage and/or duty cycle is to high for the material, this is what is considered for every gauge wire in your car as its designed.

i need HELP also!! similar problem. i have gone through 2 mini batteries. i replaced my first one thinking i bought a bad battery cuz it wouldnt keep charge when i tried trickle charging it. it was loosing power and my radar detector(V1) kept turning on and off. well i replaced it and was working fine until today when i noticed my V1 going on n off again and it seemed laggy. once i turned the car off ,it wouldnt start up at all unless i give it a jump but even then i would have to immediately take off and remain giving it gas in order for it to stay on. i bought a new volatge regulator and will install that once it gets here. i have a hyper voltage ground system in the car. stock radio, turbo timer, avcd boost controller, defi gauges
- already had replaced the alternator, bought used here
- new battery
- new starter
need help, any info would be greatly appreciated.
