Hmmm... Once those papers are signed....

A buddy of mine got a loaded Durango, for a base model price, the dealership did all the paperwork for the base model and he signed all the papers and drove the top of line one out, and a week later they called him and told him what happened, he just laughed and said your loss not mine. Nothing they could do about it, all the vin #'s were correct so it was just there fault.

Did you mention it to them at any time during the deal that you had the Montero?

So good for him , but in your case not sure .

It is the dealerships responsability to mention ALL factory rebate options to you. If they didn't mention the rebate and you make a stinke they can get in trouble with the parent company.

Keith

PS: At minimum if you cause a stinke you can get them some bad publicity.

I bought an EVO last week and got the loyalty rebate.

Basically, all you need is to have the dealer fill out a simple form after you provide proof that you own a Mitsubishi (copy of title or registration) and you can opt to have the manufacturer pay the dealer or mail you a check at home.

I would speak directly to the sales manager and have him call the regional Mitsubishi rep that is in charge of incentives.

The rebate applies if you take possesion of a car from dealer stock by Jan. 5 and the only vehicles excluded were the '04 Lancer Ralliart and '04 Lancer Sportback. The Evo was not excluded according to the fine print on the Sales Event Certificate that was on the Mitsubishi website. I still have a print out of the certificate if you are interested in reading it. Just PM me and I can fax a copy to you since I was unable to locate it tonight on the Mitsu web site.

Good luck

I just bought an 03 Montero over the weekend and used the loyalty rebate to purchase it. I just had to show the dealer the paperwork for my Evo.

Yes there is a lot you can do! They are paranoid of the JD Powers questionaire that comes about 2 weeks after you buy the car. Some dealerships pay a bounty for them if they can get them from the customer.

Also they will send you a letter with a toll free number. It goes something like this:

Dear Mr _________

On behalf of Mitsubishi Motors, I want to personally thank you for making Mitsubishi your driving choice and welcome you to the Mitsubishi Motors faimily. We hope you are thoroughly satisfied with your 2003 Lancer Evolution.

We believe you made the right choice by purchasinga Mitsubishi vehicle. But our support extends beyond your purchase. We are happy to announce a number of importan peace of mind new owner services designed to make sure that that "new car feeling" lasts throughout your ownership experience.

*our toll-free Customer Service Center @888-mitsu2004 (888 648-7820) is available to assist you with most questions or concerns you might have regarding your vehicle, payments (when financed by Mitsubishi motors Credit) or to access our owner-assistance programs. Customer Service Center hours are Monday through Saturday, 5 am to 8 pm Pacific time.

* Should you ever needit, Diamond Care Road Service will provide you access to 24-hour emergency services throughout your three-year or 36,000 mile new vehicle limited -warranty period. Covered services include free towing, jump starts, tire service, fuel and fluid delivery, and more.

* Concierge service is available through Diamond Care Road Service. In the event you have an emergency, we can help book airline travel, locate atms, or notify your home or office. Diamond Care Road Service is accessible via our toll-free Customer Service Center 24 hrs a day.

Thank you again for choosing Mitusbishi Motors. We're confident you'll enjoy many years of reliable Mitsubishi driving exhiliration.

Sincerely,

Greg O'neill
President and Chief Operating Officer

I did some quick research for you and Greg is located in Cypress, more specifically Mitsubishi Motor Sales America, 6400 Katella Ave, Cypress CA, 90630. 714-372-6000 He was recently promoted from Sr. VP.

I'd start back with the dealer first. Call back the Sales manager and tell him you know the deal is done, the survey is coming, you know he doesn't HAVE to give you the rebate, but you are asking for his help, and you will help him with the survey. My understanding is that rebate comes from Corporate anyway.

If the sales manager is no help go next to cusomer service at the above number, then Greg. If Greg doesn't work, ask for his assitant, then try these names (some might be gone as they've just undergone a blood bath, especially in Marketing) Mr Pierre Gagnon, was COO, Ms Christine Costa, Administration, Mr Kim Custer, Pub Rel Mgr, Mr Hiroshi Yajima, President.

When you get someone who will listen, lift the info from the letter and let them know they are not meeting their obligations as noted from the president.

My guess is the dealership pocketed the profit off of the rebate if they had a copy of your registration from the other , but if your stir the pot politely, I'll bet you get what you need. you might not get the money but it could be free oil changes, fluids, filters for life or something like that.

Good luck!

Dealerships are asswipes. Metro Mitsubishi in San Antonio TX is screwing me with my $2000 rebate. I am suing them.

Odd thing tho, I just found out the owner is my co-workers' girlfriends dad!!!

Im sure its the dealerships fault anyways, not the owner.

Sue them snakes. I am all for the dealership making money, but when they cheat, they need to burn in Dante's Inferno.

It is too late to get the rebate applied to your contract (as in to lower your principle and monthly payment) but maybe you can still get the rebate mailed to your house instead. It has to be signed by the dealer though, so I wouldn't go in with guns blazing. If you want the form I could mail one to you. PM me if you need it.

The customer loyalty rebate has been extended through this month. It requires that you or someone in your household (a relative of some sort) own a Mitsubishi automobile. It does not have to be traded. You have to provide proof, a current tag registration is the best way.
