What's the best way to conduct a trade

I have a guy who is interested in trading his exhaust for mine. My original idea was to simply buy each other's exhaust for the same amount and proceed like with any other sale on here. Problem is, neither one of us has the cash to buy each other's exhaust. We live on opposite sides of the country so meeting up is out of the question. What would be the best/safest way to make this trade?

Not to do it?

Without some sort of collateral there is no guarantee that either of you will get what you want

I don't understand? You want to do a straight up trade but neither of you have the money to ship the other an exhaust.......is it your Daily's and thats why you can't? Are you afraid of getting screwed? Am I missing something?

If you don't have the money to afford shipping an exhaust then you don;t do it. Shipping an exhaust shouldn't be more then 50-75ish max, you can't afford that?

i think he's mentioning money as collateral during the trade so neither one gets screwed.

Who posted the ad? If you posted then have him send the exhaust first and send yours to him when you receive his.

Neither of us has the cash to put up as collateral. I had originally wanted for us to buy each other's via paypal exhaust but things came up. So, if we wanted to "trade" it'd just be best to wait til we have the cash to buy one parties exhaust, then pay for it all via paypal like a normal sale? I want to be cautious but I also want to complete the deal ASAP. Does anybody else have any ideas?

Nope. I've never heard of having no money for mods and both parties are so cash strapped they are trying to make a deal.

You need to be able to pay for shipping. If you want to protect yourself make sure you have money to pay pal him the amount of the exhaust, pay through paypal with a visa so if there are any shenanigans you can reverse the transaction.

Honestly I almost think you're joking.

We can pay for the shipping, the issue at hand is the money for collateral if we were going to do it the paypal way.
