Egr?

Quick question guys. Is this where the EGR block off plate goes?

Also, if I block this off will I get a check engine light? I have a JDM Evo VIII.

Bro, the EGR is located under the intake manifold. It has 2 nipples coming off of it along with 2 bolts.

Here is a good thread for you to read.

I don't believe most of the evos outside the US came with an EGR. What you pictured is the sas system, which is there for homologation rules in WRC. If you want to remove it, i will take it off your hands

The thing in the picture is secondary air, or what some people here refer to as anti lag.
Only thing is the mitsu setup doesn't really act like the anti lag we know here in the states and WRC. It is more of a secondary air system due to the fact you have no EGR.

What are the benefits of removing it?

If i dont need it I'd like to take it out to free up some space
