Antenna damage to OEM spoiler..

I'm aware of the threads debating wether or not the stock antenna and stock spoiler actually touch..and the answer is they sure do. If you carefully open the trunk then it's OK, but if your in a rush like I was yesterday and let it just swing open on its own then their is a possibility for you to damage your spoiler like I did. I should have swapped the antenna out for a shorter one the second I noticed this but now its too late. Now, their is this chip on the outter edge facing the back and its driving me nuts! The edge has a slightly more raised plastic edge and now I have this stupid gap that is very noticable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fill that portion of the spoiler? Someone on here had mentioned something about melting a zip tie and using the melted plastic to fill it?? Haha Thanks!

Got a pic?

I wouldn't recommend that zip tie method... if you were going to use anything like that, then there are specific fillers you can use.

I assume its a IX wing?

Are you looking for a style repair, or a functional repair?

Yes, it's a IX wing. I'll snap a picture of it later tonight and post it here. But to answer your question, it's simply for style/appearance purposes. Of the top of your head would you know of the name of a filler I could buy? Thanks man

Use a hot glue gun @ glue stick (one of those crafty one you buy @ dollar store) and take your time fill it in. You just have to be careful and make sure it's even, once the glue harden up, you should be good.

Damn that's rough :/. I just completely removed my antenna. I don't listen to the radio, and I thought it looked ugly, but didn't know it did this !

Wow, pics please.

I know my antenna hits and I use my trunk a lot. But never seen any damage. Then again my clearcoat is no longer on the wing, LOL
