I'm tellin' you guys. Request for Discovery. It's a decent way to have a good chance of getting out of a ticket. If you know you were in the wrong, learn from it. If you know you weren't in the wrong it serves as vindication.

Either way, you're far less likely to be charged/pay for the ticket.

I've never seen a rav 4 copper. In wisconsin, all police roll in domestics. Thats weird.

Here in AZ, they have EVERYTHING. Highway Patrol has a Winnebego and an entire fleet of Camrys, Town n Countrys, Siennas, and 4 Runners. A local PD has a Mustang GT just to cruise around in and wait for ricers to try to race him.

Back to the topic at hand... If you really weren't in the wrong, then definitely take it to court. I don't recommend hiring an attorney because I've always just done the legal research myself and represented myself, but hiring a lawyer will make things easier for you.

Calm down bro. I didn't mean to call the OP a jackass. I was disagreeing with your comment on cops hating Evos.

Well, I will be doing some research on this "Request for Discovery". If you happen to find information about your incident, please PM me. I think this ticket is some bs, but sometimes cops are wrong too!

More like love evo's. They love giving us nice juicy tickets for things that we shouldn't be ticketed for.

Perhaps that's just in New Zealand?

Fight it. Come nicely dressed and groomed . I hope you are intelligent and speak correct grammar. (no offense). Just go in there, state the true story to the judge in a nice calm sincere tone. And if the cop lies, just wait your turn to respond. And yeah don't forget to mention your car is AWD. Seriously. I always win my tickets I fight =]

And make sure you tell the ENTIRE story. Even the way the cop spoke to you and approached you. My judge heard the way my cop came up to me. And then another cop came. They bull ****ted for 30MINUTES! And then finally let me leave.

If you're referring to a supporting deposition, yes, it's a great idea. In NYS, there's even a check box on the ticket where such a thing can be requested; the same may be true in other jurisdictions. Then, pray you don't get one.

All I can say is this cop was an a**hole and in the wrong. Maybe, he was a bit jealous, because he has a prius at home and wished he had a nice evo
