Best bang for your buck exhaust is a used one. I bought a BNIB First Racing exhaust used (It was new on the box) and it was the best money i have spent. It has a deep tone, and dosent drone on the highway unless you are high in the rpm's.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FIRST-RACING...ht_6198wt_1110

I bought the same one, would buy it again. full 3" piping, inline muffler, bung already welded in; The guy dropped the price...$200 shipped no idea how they're making money off this but I had 0 issues with mine and it tucked under the car amazingly well; aligned perfectly with all stock mounts

the first two videos are very good representations of what the exhaust sounds like

Not really a straight pipe on a evo is fairly quiet until you go wot! But I understand what your saying it still does draw attention.

this is what im thinking of doing. i dont want something loud when im cruising down the highway, but when i punch it i want it to scream. does it hum alot on the highway, just cruising?

What do some of you think of the perrin cat-back exhaust?

if you want something like that, get a wastegate actuated exhaust cutout. stock exhaust for normal, cutout for under boost over a certain psi

That First Racing exhaust looks really nice for a cheap affordable catback! Probably that's better than any other ebay exhausts out there.

held up fine for me so far, all the welds look great, etc., etc. i don't drive in snow/salted roads though so i can't tell you how it will hold up there, but i would buy it again. sadly, i didn't take any pictures out of the box

biggest selling point for me was 3" all the way, bung already welded in, and in-line muffler on the mid section
