New to EVO

Greetings,

I'm new and I'm strongly considering purchasing an EVO.

I have found it wierd that people are only talking about the 04 only coming out now. Is this normal for Japanes Auto makers? I'm used to cars coming out in the late fall.

Here is my situation. I'm about to finish paying for my M3, which I'm going to use as my luxury sportscar days. But I'm looking for something more (faster, handling, etc). I WAS in the market for just another car to tote around like the new TL which I think is really great, but I figure that I'll probably regret the purchase because its too luxury given my current state (Single, speed seeking, racing, etc. ) I realize that they are in two different classes, but my M3 was going to be my race car and my TL was going to be the luxury car. Now the M3 will be my luxury car compared to the EVO.

I'm looking to place an order for an EVO. I'm not too interested in the frills, and I'm interested in racing on the weekends so I'm considering the RS version since I ahve the M3 for the days I feel like going in more comfort. Does anyone forsee anything coming up for the 05 season? I thought that 05 s would be out in September / October and I could place an order for one or is this too soon? Maybe there are things that I'll gain by waiting for the 05? I'm planning to wait a bit only becuase I dont want to ahve two payments simultaneously. Besides the payments will be lower than my M3.

Buy the RS, drop another $2000 into it and you will never be sorry.

The car by itself I dont think you will be sorry, but still...

According to Popular mechanics the Evolution MR will be out in 2005 so if you have the cash you may want to wait for that. but the RS may be good for you if you only want to use it at the track. If you are looking into fast weekend cars you should look at the 1993-1998 Toyota Supra's which are more geared to be a weekend only type of car. I sold my Supra due to the cost of driving it and bought the Evo as a more affordable daily driver, but if you are not going to be driving it that much then that might be a good car for you to look at. And dont let its age scare you.
