ahhh i just dont know what to do, it seems to just be a guessing game, id prefer to fork out the money for my e85 tune but the tune will be no good if my timing belt snaps haha, I found a local shop here in Colorado willing to do the belts and tensioners for 612.30 OTD......decisions decisions.

Make sure to use only OEM Mitus stuff. The belt can come from a few of the top manufactures, but all the rest needs to be OEM only. It has been proven time and time again that the stock stuff is way better then anything else.

Is the Greddy and HKS belt just overpriced or worth it, AWD?

The gates, HKS, and Greddy are all nice belts. Worth it? I could not tell you. They do use a different materiel then OEM, but if I remember correctly its only on the belt its self and not on the teeth or vice/versa. It really does not make the belt stronger. I personally made 653FWHP on my old DSM on 100% OEM belts and stuff. Never had a problem.

I am using all OEM on my setup if that matters to you.

Just do the belt, cheaper than an engine if it snaps

Ok ill have to check on what else they use, they "claim" the gates kevlar belt teeth are %200 stronger than oem.....i hardly believe this but at a minimum i shouldn't have to worry for another 60k, also is the water pump generally a necessity?

while ur doing it, you might as well do the water pump. dont be dumb and not do it only for it to go out and you have to pay more money to do the same job you did.

the oem belt lasted 60k miles or more... what more do u want a belt to do? unless your racing like crazy the oem belt will do.

i just had my 60k done, belts, tensioner, pulleys, water pump, all fluids: radiator, oem diaqueen in tcase/rear diff and redline for tranny. expensive yes... but wont have to worry for hopefully another 60k. better to fork out than to play the waiting game on when you motor goes

I cant believe people would even think of taking the chance of going past 60k.... Your talking $1200 bucks compared to $5000+

If you cant afford the maintence, should of bought a car you can (not directed towards anyone, just a general statement)

Sorry, I have to agree with this.

I see threads all the time, how can I get this part cheap.
But when it comes to turbos, $2,500 no problem.

I'm not taking the chance, the car has been driven very sparingly while trying to get an appointment. I realize $1200 compared to $5000 is a smarter choice. Just simply trying to figure out the best way to do things (and it seems other people have the same question). I feel like i could do this job myself, I just dont have the tools readily available, which is why I have such a hard time wanting to fork out $1200 that I could spend elsewhere. Thanks everyone for the input
