That engine bay looks pretty rough for only 31000 miles. Was it parked outsid a lot?

 

What made you drop the X? The MR X is sexy-bad. She's a thicker girl and a little nerdy but she can get really nasty. It's like having this ex-ninja secretary or the chick from lollipop chainsaw as your girlfriend. bTW lollipop chainsaw is gonna kill.

 

If your techy and prepared to pull everything apart good for you, get what makes you happy. I got a pretty rough Evo IX and I pulled everything apart and am currently putting it back together, gives me piece of mind to know that everything is done right

 

Car looks a lil rough for the low miles but the money you saved can bring it back. As for the trade it's what you wanted so who cares.. I hear ya with the MR SST not for me either

 

My X had 67,xxx miles on it, but i took really good care of it.

 

I think it was a good trade. Just because a car has been modded doesn't mean it was driven into the ground. I know plenty of people with stock cars that they drive hard and people with mod cars that they don't.

 

If you owed on the X then you made a great choice. $10,000 in your pocket sounds good. Sure the engine bay looks a bit rough but you can clean it up easily, replace and upgrade with better parts, and do a full tune up.

Anyone that buys a "stock" evo or any performance car and believes the previous owners when they say "yea I never drove it hard, launched it, or raced it, I just kept it stock" is naive as hell

De-rice it a bit and it will look better.

Well since your X had 67k in miles and you got $10,000 in cash I say you did good. The car is nice but just needs some work. Use some of that cash to clean her up and you'll be good to go

 

Should have kept the X, but that's just my 2-cents. That VIII looks pretty rough. If you're happy that is all that matters though

 

I sold my IX for the X I currently drive. Although I loved my IX I couldn't imagine going back. I sold it to a friend of mine so I get to drive it every once in a while. I love it for that short drive, but when I get back in my car I remember why I went with the X. Good luck with your car.
