EvoII vs new car?

Which do you think will be cheaper over say 10 years to run as a daily driver?

My Evo II,which is in decent shape(body is amazingly rust free) and currently running good, but surely will require parts/repair in the future.

Or sell it now(lets say I can get around $8000.00 for it)and buy a new car around $20000.00 which I know(based on past experiences)that I can run for around 10 years/150000KM's trouble free.

I like my old Evo,but I don't want to be upside down and spend too much in repairs etc.

PS I'm living here in Canada,my EvoII probably has 200000KM's on it(I'm sure they "clocked" the odo back before shipping it to me from Japan),and my GF has an EvoX that is our main car so we put about 15000KM's per year on our second car.

I feel like your evo II will be cheaper.. its going to cost you 12,000 for the new car, plus interest ( if you finance ) plus, on that new car you will need a timing belt at 60k and 120k miles. etc. I believe that if you keep your evo, maintain it well and dont beat on it too bad, then it will be cheaper in the long run.. Just be sure to keep it in really good shape or you will want to get rid of it , because regardless, any car that is having tons of problems become a headache that you may want to get rid of!

- overall, not 100 % sure which will be cheaper ( keeping the evo is my guess )

but I hope you make the best decision for you!

Why not build the car you have already if you are happy with it? Might be cheaper in the long run.

I'd get an estimate for the repairs on the Evo II (if there are any) before I'd make any decisions, just to get an idea of how much you'd be spending if you ended up keeping it.
