need input from JDM headlight owners

the JDM foglights have a shield blocking the bulb that the USDM fogs don't.

does anyone know what it is?

i attached some pictures if you guys don't know what i'm talking about.

Don't quote me, but I suspect it simply narrows/refines/refocuses the beam. Looks cooler too. lol

thanks for the input guys.

the previous owner of the JDM heads told me the JDM fogs sucked compared to his USDM ones. he said that shield seems to block off a lot of the light being emitted.

does anyone know what that rubbery thing surround the USDM fog bulb is? i'm assuming it's to reduce glare, but i'm not sure.

i had that shield from the JDM fogs removed and plan on getting some HIDs on there, but i'm afraid i might be blinding people with those reflectors. if that rubbery thing around the USDM fog light bulb is some kinda antiglare thing, maybe i can get something similar for my JDM fogs so i won't be blinding people
