Radiator Cap fitment

Hello all,

I have recently purchased a Mishimoto Radiator which came with a cap as well.

The problem I have is that the cap does not twist on tight at all. You can loosen the cap with very little effort.

Is this normal? It seems like it will just come off so I am a bit worried.

Thanks all!

I wouldnt suggest using that cap if its as loose as you say it is. Have you tried fitting the OEM cap?

Yeah, the OEM one does not fit.

I have a replacement on the way, hopefully it will be better, but I have my doubts b/c it is from the same manufacturer.

It might be the part of the neck on the radiator that might be messed up.

I have a Mishimoto radiator with the oem cap on it, fits just fine. I went back with the oem cap because Mishimoto's cap pressure is too high for the Evo's coolant system. It was causing my water pump to leak.
