I need to know what the C shaped item in the middle is..... it's not in the instructions.

 

nevermind please close thread, after looking at another vendor's short throw shifter combo this is a tool for removing the plastic bushings from the factory shifter. Apparently TS didn't know this when they copied the short throw as in the instructions they show the guy using a pair of pliers and then stepping on it.
