Who never needs to fix his car?
Just got back from a drive. I was out right before dawn, went out again later in the afternoon, and had to row the gear one more time throughout the last hour. Every time I want to run the car, every time, it starts, goes, and does what it does with zero drama. 100% reliable. Sure, I've gone through consumables like tires, pads, and a clutch, and there's regular maintenance, but nothing ever breaks. There's never a day when the car makes some mechanically worrisome sound. It simply works.
As a change of pace from the "issue threads," let's hear from those who never need to fix their Evos.

Besides consumables like brakes, oil, etc, and things that I've caused by own own stupidity or from doing R&D on new parts, I'd say my car's been pretty reliable overall.
Still doesn't make it cheap to own though

Same here, no problems for the nearly 2 years I've owned the car. I just keep up with regular maintenance and deal with the consumables and the car's been great to me
Now, hopefully she stays that way after I get tuned with some goodies
I'm jealous. I've owned my car for over a year now, and I still can't get it to idle properly. It's always one thing after the other. Get a tactrix cable to read the DTCs, laptop doesn't work. Get a new laptop, code doesn't work. Suspect TB shaft seals, change them, idles way higher now. Try to adjust BISS screw using EvoScan, the BISS adjustment mode does nothing. Can't read codes.
Always just small things. Aside from my idle, car has been reliable though. I can't wait to be a red light and not be idling at 1400rpm.

My car hasn't had any major problems (Knock on wood) after I fixed the few that the previous owner couldn't
Other than that, the only times I've had to fix things was when i broke them
If I wasn't OCD about things, I don't think I'd ever open the hood aside from maintenance.. but it's always do this, change this, upgrade this

I've had my EVO for 28 months and it has been pounded on the dyno over 50+ pulls, to the tune of 394/376 on 91. It has seen full load in all gears at all RPM's on mountain roads, it has been launched WOT countless times, hauled way more weight than it was designed to, it has seen air under all 4 tires, and been on 12 hour trips without ever turning off.
The car has never let me down. Simply outstanding!

Outside of maintenance , Had to actually fix 2 things over the year
1. Harness in drivers kick panel corrosion issue. Free Fix
2. Injector resistor pack went bad. $50 used for bracket with all 3 pieces
By far this is the most reliable car I have ever owned. Hell my 08 Astra has had more wrong with it

Same with mine. Only consumables. Mine is daily driven. Mileage is currently at 96K. I've modded mine as you can see below on my sig. She has never let me down yet! I LOVE this car!
A couple of EGR passage cleanings, clutches/brakes/tires/fluids/tbelt + wp. Bought it with 58k in 09, has 104k now. Never had any serious problems other than cosmetic wear and tear. Rivals my '90 civic sedan in reliability. Hats off to
