help gas station gave me wrong gas

Ok so the guy was so into asking me about my car he accidently filled it up with regular first time I'v ever had this happen we didnt notice till it was 100% full. I would imagine its ok as long as I dont boost however its a 2.3 stroker motor so i believe the compression is higher then a stock 2.0 correct me if I am wrong. I did not do the motor work i bought it built like that. So they put octain booster in there and I did already have about 3 gallons or so of premium in the tank before getting it filled. Am I screwd ? is it ok as long as i just don't get into boost and if the computer automatically takes away timing will it ever add that timing back once i use better gas or do i have to kill the power and reset the ecu to fix that ? I wish I knew the compression ratio I dono all I know is it has je pistions eagle rods and crank 2.3 stroker thanks for help in advance.

I would recomend driving it easy the octane booster will help depending on brand most do nothing but add harmful solvents into the fuel. What you need to pay attention for is if there is any pinging sounds while under load. Higher compression motor require higher octane fuels. Forced induction motors run a lower compression ratio do to the pressure produced. Ok so long story short you should be ok just dont go and hot rod it around. Also just listen how your car will react. You may not even notice a diffrence. Just drive nice!!!!

i would personally just drain the fuel tank and go refill her up with the right octane yea it may cost you in gas but its cheaper than a new motor

I'd bail on that fuel too. Better safe than sorry.

hope i didnt do any damage driving it home from the gas station I drove as careful as i could not to generate boost , I believe my check engine light is programmed to flash if it detects detonation and was no flashing. What could be the easiest way to drain that

Drive normal and stay out of boost. Nothing will happen to the motor, just keep driving normal out of boost until its really low and fill up with 93 or what ever is highest octane available that your tuned on . I would repeat the same with the second fill up of 93 as well just to be sure the left over the mixed in is gone to.

PS displacement (2.3) has nothing to do with compression. But even if your evo has 10:5:1 compression just drive normal.

There is a 12mm nut on each side of the gas tank on the underside of the car. Jack it up and drain it out. $50 in gas is not worth thousands in an engine etc. Although driving it normal will most likely not hurt it, it really is not worth the risk.

Yeah dude I would just drain the tank and fill it back up with Premium. Then drive it carefully for a couple of gallons. Thats to make sure whatever was left in the lines are burnt up. A risk of detonation isnt worth saving $50. Plus, it takes a lot of octane booster to actually increase the octane points in your fuel.

Well look at it this way if you do have to drain the tank you could fill up your lawn mower for a year or so! Drain it!

drive it like a grandma for half a tank then fill it up with 100 race gas. It should balance out to 93 ish octane at that point. Or you could just drive it easy until empty.

Ive had it happen before on my old 2.4l Talon. Just turned the boost to wastegate pressure and ran it empty. Now I watch them like a hawk when they fill my gas (Us oregonians are apparently to dumb to pump our own )
