A few Quick questions on my clutch install

Hey guys, about to throw my new flywheel on and Im just curious on whether or not I should be removing the oil that was applied for packaging purposes on my new flywheel before the disc gets thrown on? This is the oily substance used during packaging to prevent corrosion for shipping....Also is it ok the reuse the oem flywheel bolts or are they a one time use item?....Last thing is what is involved in changing out the rear main seal, I figured I would swap that while in there? Thanks in advance

Yes, you want to clean off the oil film, just use brake cleaner. Haven't done a rear main on an EVO, but if it's similar to a 2G DSM it's a few bolts and the whole housing comes out. If it's stuck in their good you may need to use self-tapping screws to drill into the "gasket" so you have something to pull against to remove it. Pretty simple overall.

I would suggest you buy new flywheel bolts and use red loctite on them, better safe than sorry

I have done multiple clutch installs and never had to replace the flywheel bolts just make sure you have them all torqued properly and you should not have any issues. And as far as the rear main seal housing goes it's a pretty easy job and I would recommend replacing the aluminum housing around the seal as well it's cheap and it cracks pretty easy after it has been on and off. Just a few bolts and some silicone and its done. Again properly torque that housing down because it is aluminum and cracks very easy. Best of luck
