Help Fix, WG Flutter? [video inside]

Im pretty sure this is wg flutter. I already checked and changed and running a big blue spring with a small one in my TiAL 44 WG. This only happens in 5th gear as you see in video. My MBC is Hallman, and when you see the gauge sweep back, its cause gauge maxes out at 30psi, and when it spins around back its 31psi.

here's the video

thanks

dave

so you have no leaks and it only does on the 5th gear or on all gears. did you check for any exhaust leaks on the headers or around the wastegate prior to the turbo hotside or if the turbo housing has some cracks and also i would recomend to remove the wasetgate and check the spring.

No leaks on hoses, tb, egr, turbo, wg, bov, piping, mbc, leak free

i can double check, but havent done to much leak testing on the header, since it would be warm and just burn off the soapy water.

turbo housing seems to be fine, i've had the turbo out twice within the week, and inspected it, everything appears fine. If it was cracked im sure i'd see it also or hear it hissing. I've also checked the WG springs, and i just put in a Large Blue one, and already has a small one. Large blue spring is for 13psi, and small (unknown color ::lowest spring is 3psi: that would total 16psi. + mbc should be fine

And yes, this only happens in 5th during the phase of when the turbo is going from around 24-28psi as you see. Before that its fine, and after it settles its fine.

Have you checked the vaccum that goes to the WG, it looks like the WG is not holding boost properly I know you guys changed springs but try something else.

the problem is that its not doing it on all gears cuz if it was then it would be easy to detect the problem. but its only in 5th gear when spooling up and as i noticed from the video its happening btwn 25 psi and 30 psi and when you reach max boost it seems to hold it he saying that its holding boost on the other gears but again in order for a WG to flutter is that its not holding boost properly and the spring needs to be changed which you have done or the vacuum hose as said.

Does your hallman MBC have a ceramic ball and are you running the heavy duty spring on it?

And what type of BOV are you running cuz a BOV will do the same fluttering noise as well

Have you always been running that boost level? (No problems before)- no chances it being compressor surge?
I'd try using another boost controller.

TiaL 50mm Bov.

My hallman mbc has the ceramic ball with which i belive is the stiffer spring. I looked into it before and contacted and found out the "ceramic and (i belive) silver or black" spring was needed, which i had when i checked.

I've always had this issue, just kinda lived with it. I tried looking into it before with no luck.

The vaccum hose that goes from mbc to wg? Pretty sure i would have seen any sort of leaks if thats what you're refering to(on the hose). But i can easily change it, i have extra hose.

What is your IC piping? LICP and UPIC, all 2.5"?
To me it sounds like compressor surge.

WG setup is BR 35R kit, open dump?
