Tune

I'm looking into tuning my own evo, I was wondering what programs I would need and what epuipment and where I can get them from. Also, how hard would it be to tune, would it be worth if I do it on my own or take it to someone else? Can anyone help, please.

I would venture to say that you should have ample experience and a budget to break stuff if you plan on just starting tuning your car yourself.

Regardless, read until your eyes hurt:

If you're really set on tuning your car yourself, do alot ALOT ALOT of reading, do as much research as you can, on the ecuflash section that someone posted above already. It's pretty intimidating at first, but you can do it. Make sure you do the research though, cant emphasize that enough, READ READ READ!! Check out the stickies at the top of the ecuflash section, there's alot of howto's. The merlin guide above is very good also, i spent alot of time with my face buried in there, alot of info to take in.

To add to this, get yourself a tactrix cable, a wideband, and learn to do some data logging. It's a nice way to ease into it, and supplement all of your reading with relevant info about your car. You can start doing this without changing a thing with your tune, and it will help you put some names to faces so-to-speak. Good luck!
